Martin Edwards is celebrating his 20th year as CEO of Julia’s House by taking on 20 different extreme sports challenges to raise money for the charity, which provides care for terminally ill children.

He shared: “My biggest challenge was my ultra marathon, which was 37 miles over mountains in the Lake District. I’ve also done an abseil down Spinnaker Tower.”

Martin aims to raise £ 5,000 for each challenge, with the next challenge being a 2-hour HIROX workout in mid-November.

He shared: “The idea of the 20 challenges was the idea of a family member of someone who passed away in our care.”

He has also completed a 70-mile cross-country walk between Julia’s houses, two hospices. This involved walking 35 miles a day, dealing with painful blisters on the second day.

He shared:  “Running the Bournemouth half marathon today has been a breeze in comparison to other challenges.”

It was his fourth time running it for the charity he ran in a full Spiderman costume to raise even more awareness to the charity.

He added: “It’s been a joy as all the kids have been going ‘ hi Spidey’.”
