Cherries’ youtube viewership fluctuates after mixed recent form

After AFC Bournemouth’s thumping from Villa at the weekend, the Cherries have now lost 2 in a row, having been 8 games unbeaten prior.

This takes Bournemouth out of the European places, for now, sitting in 9th place.

Using data curated from SocialBlade, analysis can be made from the viewership of their Youtube, comparing when they were in form, and out of it.

Inferences can be drawn to show that the club received the most interaction after wins and good performances, rather than losses.

Their 3-3 draw away to palace saw the club gain over 650,000 views on the day of the game and in the 2 days after the game, after the publication of 2 videos.

Whilst the game was not a win for the Cherries, it’s natural for a 3-3 draw with 2 late goals to draw some attention.

Their 2-0 win against Nottingham Forest gained the channel over 300,000 views, publishing 3 videos.

However, that would be where their good form would come to an end, with a 3-1 away defeat to Man City.

The club had posted 3 videos after this game and had only received 250,000 views, a vast difference to the games in which they had won.

In addition, the trend continued with their 4-0 loss to Villa, with the club gaining 220,000 views in the 2 days after the game.

It is also worth noting that the nature of the videos posted on Youtube around matchdays are usually reaction/press conferences, and highlight packages.

It is clear that content, for the Cherries, whilst being published in similar ways with the same design, is naturally more engaging when it comes off the back of a win or dramatic game.

Bournemouth face West Ham after the international break, hoping to break their streak and get back to winning ways.

This may also mean curating more engagement for their Youtube.
