Bournemouth-born goalkeeper Maddison Millington-Stanbury is hoping to secure her first professional start when her team face Luton Town next Sunday.
The Kinson local made her senior debut for Oxford United at the end of October, coming on late in a 4–0 League Cup win over Chelsea PGA.
Despite limited minutes, she impressed with a late save to preserve Oxford’s clean sheet.
The former Arsenal academy player and England under-16 international signed her first professional deal with Oxford in the summer, and has been part of every matchday squad since returning from a minor injury.
Speaking on the cup tie, she said: “I’m working hard in training and doing everything I can to earn a start next week.
“The FA Cup is a massive competition, so to be playing would mean everything.
“Making my debut was an incredible feeling, but now I want to play against Luton – it’s a key opportunity for me to show my worth.”
Maddison will be looking to claim the No. 1 spot against Luton Town on November 23.
