Ridgeway Football Club (FC) have encouraged mums of all ages and footballing abilities to join their relaunch of their “Mums Football Sessions.”
The sessions were relaunched after a lady approached the manager of the women’s first team and was told to bring four or five other mums that were interested.
The lady came back within 48 hours with four other players.
Tim Davis, director of football and manager of the women’s first team at Ridgeway FC said: “I had sent out a survey all of the mums that had originally signed up, and every single player said that the reason why they had come was because we had named it mums’ football.”
The club’s previous mums’ session was launched two years ago and was a success as it saw the formation of a new development team for the club.
There are currently nine mums in the first team.
The club hopes that other clubs in the area form mums teams so that there could be a possibility of having a mum’s league.
