Two men have been charged after a steward was injured in a disturbance at a football match on Saturday.

Thames Valley Police said there was an altercation following Reading’s League One match against Barnsley at the Select Car Leasing Stadium.

It was reported that a steward was injured.

One of the two men, Reilly Wood, 25 of Knyeveton Road, Bournemouth, has been charged with entering a playing area and criminal damage. Wood is due to appear in court on the 24th of February.

A Thames Valley Police spokesman said: “Ensuring the safety of everyone of everyone attending or working at football matches remains a priority, and any reported incidents are responded to and investigated.”
