Manchester United have this evening confirmed that former captain Michael Carrick will be in charge of the team for the rest of the 25/25 season.

This comes after Ruben Amorim was sacked last Monday after 14 months as manager.

Darren Fletcher took charge of United’s previous two matches while the club searched for an interim manager, overseeing a 2-2 draw with Burnley and a 2-1 FA Cup loss to Brighton.

Carrick will be joined by former Bournemouth manager Jonathan Woodgate as well as Steve Holland, Travis Binnion, Jonny Evans and Craig Mawson, as part of his coaching staff.

More to follow.
