Ireland centre Bundee Aki has been left out of the national squad for the upcoming Six Nations fixture following a disciplinary matter, the Irish Rugby Football Union has confirmed.

In a statement released on Wednesday, the IRFU said Aki did not travel with the men’s senior squad to Portugal as part of their preparations, citing internal disciplinary reasons. No further details surrounding the incident have been disclosed.

The union reiterated its stance on player conduct, stating it does not tolerate “any form of disrespect shown towards match officials” and will not condone behaviour that falls below the standards expected of those representing Irish rugby.

Aki, who has been a key figure for Ireland in recent international campaigns, is now unavailable for selection while the matter is addressed internally.

Ireland continues their Six Nations preparations this week, with coaching staff expected to confirm squad updates closer to matchday.
