AFC Bournemouth have reportedly opened talks to sign 19-year-old Brazilian winger Rayan from CR Vasco da Gama.

Sky Sports’ Mark McAdam has reported on X that the Cherries have not sent a formal offer yet, but talks are currently ongoing between the clubs.

Vasco de Gama finished 14th in the Brazilian Serie A with Rayan scoring 14 goals in 34 league games.

McAdam reports that the Cherries would see Rayan as their long-term replacement for Antoine Semenyo, who the club are looking to replace this month if possible.

Semenyo departed Bournemouth six days ago for Manchester City for a £65 million transfer fee.

The Ghanaian international was with Bournemouth for three years, joining from Championship side Bristol City in January 2023 for £10.5 million.

Semenyo accumulated 32 goals and 13 assists in 110 games for the Cherries and now the club is looking to replace him as soon as possible.

Rayan joined Vasco de Gama, commonly known as Vasco, at the age of six following in his father’s footsteps who represented the club between 1995 to 2000.

The 19-year-old has played three seasons for the Brazilian side now and has found the net 23 times in his 98 appearances.

Rayan was called up to the Brazil u17 side in 2022 for friendly matches against Paraguay and Chile, scoring twice in four games.

Bournemouth are looking for multiple players in this window and it has been reported by both McAdam and Sky Italia that Bournemouth have made an unsuccessful bid for Ferencvaros midfielder Alex Toth.

The club see Toth as a replacement for the injured Tyler Adams and are fighting Italian club Lazio for the Hungarian’s signature.

The Cherries have already had an £8.6 million bid turned down by Ferencvaros but the club are continuing talks to sign the player.

Toth has represented Hungary internationally nine times now, making his debut in March 2025.

He started his senior career with Ferncvaros, winning two Hungarian league titles and playing in Champions League Qualifying games for the club.

The transfer window closes at 7pm on the 2nd of February and Bournemouth will be hoping to have secured both player’s signature in time to join the Cherries for the rest of the season.
