The 25-year-old joined the Southern League Premier South club last Friday and is already ‘enjoying’ his start to life with the Dolphins.
Carr got off to the perfect start with Poole as they defeated the league leaders Walton & Hersham 2-1 on Saturday afternoon at the Elmbridge Xcel Sports Hub where they played the majority of the match with ten men following Ayo’s red card.
After the remarkable win on Saturday afternoon, Carr said: “It was great to make my debut today, thank you to the fans who welcomed me in.”
He added: “It was a long time coming, but I’m so pleased to be here and I can’t wait for the rest of the season.”
Carr joined the Dorset based side from Hanwell Town having spent a number of years with the Geordies.
He started his career in Buckinghamshire with Aylesbury FC back in 2018, before making the mid-season move to Welwyn Garden City.
He first signed for Hanwell Town in the 2020-21 season and has been at the club ever since bar brief spells away with Bracknell Town, Metropolitan Police and Welling United.
Regarding his time with Hanwell, he said: “For my standards, I probably wasn’t as happy as I could have been in terms of performances.”
Carr added: “I’m very critical of myself and I felt I could have been better in certain games, but even then still six goals from wing back isn’t the worst.”
After racking up over 200 appearances for the Geordies, Carr has joined Poole Town on an 18-month contract which will see him remain a Dolphin until the conclusion of the 2026-27 campaign.
On why the time was right for his move to the Dolphins, Carr said: “In terms of where my life is now at, I felt now was the right time to kick on, and with how well the team is doing this season, it was a no-brainer.”
Vice-Chairman Andy Rossiter commented on his arrival: “Dan is another statement signing for the club, he’s a player who has been on our radar for a very long time.
Rossiter added: We’re excited to see what he can bring to the squad. I’d also like to thank Hanwell’s chairman for helping facilitate this move.”
