Delays on the Southern Western Railway this morning between Weymouth and Wareham, after a person died on tracks near Wool railway station, have now ended and trains are back and running. Replacement buses are no longer running.

Further delays may continue over the week with engineering work taking place between London Waterloo to Clapham Junction, Farnham to Alton and Salisbury to Southampton Central on Saturday 31 January and Sunday 1 February. This will cause many delays to travel, particularly across the Island Line

On Thursday 29th January, there were 5 hours of delays in the areas between Bournemouth and Ashurst, due to signalling issues, which led to many stranded in Bournemouth and plans cancelled on their trips.

With constant train delays, strikes and cancellations of trains, it can be a frustrating form of transport locals say it is, one local mentioned ‘I had a connection at Kings Cross to Scotland, but I won’t be picking that, so I’ve given up for the day.’

Another Bournemouth local, Lisa, who has also dealt with her trip being delayed said, ‘I should’ve been in London just after 12, now I don’t even know whether I’ll be there’.

Disruptions could be even more frequent with the Met Office issuing a flood warning for the Bournemouth area. With the afternoon having  ‘periods of heavy rain spreading eastwards through this afternoon’, and a ‘Risk of localised flooding’.
