Train delays set to last the week

Planned engineering work taking place between London Waterloo to Clapham Junction, Farnham to Alton and Salisbury to Southampton Central on Saturday 31 January and Sunday 1 February. This will cause many delays to travel, particularly across the Island Line.

After 5 hours of delays in the areas between Bournemouth and Ashurst, the signalling problems have been resolved and all lines have now been reopened.as well as the likely chance of more flooding, disruptions could last the rest of the week.

with the Met Office issuing a moderate rainfall warning.

 

🚧 Planned engineering works are taking place on the South Western Railway Network from Saturday 31 January to Sunday 01 February.

London Waterloo to Clapham Junction, Farnham to Alton, Salisbury to Southampton Central and the Island Line will be affected.

As well as these delays, there is a likely chance of more flooding, disruptions could last the rest of the week, with the Met Office issuing a moderate rainfall.

With constant train delays, strikes and cancellations of trains, it can be frustrating form of transport locals say it is, one local mentioned ‘I had a connection at Kings Cross to Scotland, but i wont be picking that, so ive given up for the day.’ Others were disappointed with the fsct the trains were delayed,

Lisa, a Bournemouth local said, ‘I should’ve been in London just after 12, now i don’t even know whether i’ll be there’.
