Since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, children eligible for free school meals were no longer provided a free lunch due to school closures.
To combat this issue, the government introduced supermarket vouchers worth £15 per week and sent out food packages to families to help feed their children. However, the success of these schemes were questioned by families who shared their frustration through social media.
Brad Hanson and Sam Hughes from West Sussex became The Bald Builders around two years ago and have since gained around one million followers across their social platforms.
In November 2020, Brad and Sam decided to take it upon themselves to use their platform to help feed children across Littlehampton and Bognor Regis who were struggling from not receiving their free school meals.
