The United Nation’s 26th Climate Change Conference in Glasgow is currently recruiting volunteers.
Around one thousand people are needed according to Glasgow City Council from the 28th October to the 14th November 2021 and it is to take place at the Scottish Event Campus.
Volunteering roles within Glasgow and Edinburgh include providing information on the conference, supporting delegates and promoting the best of what Scotland has to offer.
The COP26 event unites countries to discuss ways to tackle climate change.
One of the main subjects of the conference will be the Paris Agreement which the US has only recently re-joined.
Gill Thayne, a COP26 Volunteer Ambassador said: “These vital climate talks are expected to bring together the largest gathering of heads of state ever hosted in the UK, alongside climate experts and campaigners, to agree coordinated action to tackle the climate emergency.
My heart belongs to Glasgow and to bring it to the focal point of the world for this significant event makes me so proud”
Before taking on roles, volunteers will attend a workshop on sustainability from the UN.
If you are interested in volunteering please apply here by Wednesday 31st March.
