Boris Johnson’s admission to attending the “bring your own booze” event, has been met with fury from the Labour Party.
George Farquhar, labour councillor for Boscombe East & Pokesdown, told Buzz News: “What the prime minister, Boris Johnson, is not doing in this particular case is showing leadership.
“If you get caught out, you need to apply your principles.
“Ministers that are open, transparent, honest and show leadership, integrity, objectivity and accountability, will be noticed by the electorate. It is clear to me that the conservatives are not that”.
The leader of the opposition, Sir Keir Starmer, took to Twitter, calling for the prime minister to resign.
The party is over @BorisJohnson.

Resign.
Starmer emphasised, to the Commons, that former health secretary, Matt Hancock, had resigned for breaking lockdown rules as well as former political aid, Allegra Stratton.
The Prime Minister stated he believed that “implicitly it was a work event”, which sparked significant reaction across the social media sphere.
The words made by the PM prompted a multitude of memes across Twitter, undermining the prime minister.

There were also countless Twitter users who defended the Prime Ministers’ actions, claiming that masses of people flocked to Bournemouth beach on the same day the party took place.
The crowds of people on Bournemouth beach during May 2020 has been adopted by the PM’s supporters to justify the Downing Street party.
One Tweet said: “the difference is these beach goers are not in a covid secure environment like Number 10”.
Bournemouth in May 2020 during the same hot spell. The difference is these beach goers are not in a covid secure environment like Number 10. The hypocrisy of you fools is laughable….. pic.twitter.com/D4APC9uMtO
