Royal Bournemouth Hospital staff reacted to Professor Jonathan Van-Tam resigning from his position.
Professor Van-Tam has assisted in leading the county in guidance and plans during the pandemic.
He will now return to the Pro Vice Chancellor for Faculty of Medicine and Health and Social Sciences.
Amanda Linford, Primary Contact in the consultancy department at Bournemouth said that “the overall feeling is that he will be missed.
“He was only on secondment as Deputy Chief Medical Officer from University of Nottingham and is going back to that now, so there is no great surprise.
Linford and her team believe that “”he is well known in the medical world for his role there as Pro-Vice Chancellor for the medical faculty.
“He is highly respected, especially for his very sensible approach during the pandemic and, we all feel he was very ‘normal’ and down to earth and said things in a way we could all understand,” she said.
Professor Can-Tam announced this morning that he will be resigning his position and is due to work until this March, and stated he “look forward to the next challenge.
