NHS South Western Ambulance Service announced the Patient Participation Panel meeting is due to take place on Friday the 14th of January 2022 between 10 and 11am via zoom.
The key purpose of this meeting is to discus Cardiac Arrest with members of the public.
Deanna Hill, South Western Ambulance Service’s Patient Engagement Lead explained, “One thing we’ve identified is that we didn’t have an avenue to get patient voices heard and what we wanted to achieve was a you said we did attitude. The idea is that we listen and collect their feedback and implement positive change based on that.”
Within the meeting there will also be demo’s on how to give CPR, were to find defibrillators in your local area and other helpful advice about what to do if someone is suffering from Cardiac Arrest.
“Out of hospital Cardiac Arrests happen, in fact 80% of Cardiac Arrests happen at home therefore what where trying to do tomorrow is really to get that information across, to deliver free training to the public and to express the importance of people learning how to handle what to do in this situation.”
“We have had really positive feedback from our passed panels and the public have been very open with their views witch is what we want.”
The public will be invited to ask questions, raise any concerns and listen to helpful information about the topic.
