Over 600 NHS Staff were absent through sickness or self-isolation across the University Hospitals Dorset NHS Foundation Trust which includes the Royal Bournemouth Hospital.
The number of NHS staff who were absent from the 1st January to the 16th January has been slowly falling and looks to continue on a downwards trend.
The figures peaked around the 6th January with 643 staff absent from the University Hospitals Dorset NHS Foundation Trust and 300 absent staff from Dorset County Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.
The latest figures from 16th January show 488 staff absences from the hospitals which are covered by the University Hospitals Dorset NHS Foundation Trust and 176 covered by Dorset County Hospitals.
The first chart shows the rise and fall of NHS staff absences showing the peak of 300 staff off ill either with sickness or due to self-isolation in the Dorset County Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.
The chart below shows that within the group of hospitals covered by the University Hospitals Dorset NHS Foundation Trust that the peak of staff absences hit a high of 653 NHS staff off ill due to self isolation or sickness.
Data from NHS England suggests that the figures should continue to fall. However this could all change when further restrictions are lifted later this month.
