Fuel prices were at their lowest this week since the invasion of Ukraine nearly a year ago. However rumours of a lifting and increase on fuel duty in the upcoming spring budget threatens taxi workers the most, warns PRC Streamline director Kevin Diffey.
The prices being at their lowest is a “move in the right direction” but Mr Diffey is still aware of the excess profits being made by the likes of Shell and BP.
An increase will see taxi workers receive less pay as they will be forced to adapt to the new prices. Chancellor Jeremy Hunt has ruled out making a decision on the fuel duty, with many predicting it will come into force this March.
