In a “desperate” bid for match day income Poole Town make their next home game ‘pay what you want’ for all fans.
The Dolphins have announced on their website that this will be for their next home game against Winchester City, which originally took place on the 2nd of December, but abandoned after 50 minutes due to three of the four floodlights failing.
Usually the price of tickets are around £12 for adults and £5 for under 18’s, but in a bid to “generate some desperately needed matchday income,” the prices have changes for one game only.
The club released a statement on their website.
Poole Town said: “Tuesday, January 16th, kick off 7.45 sees a vital home game for the club when we take on Winchester City at the Black Gold.
“It is vital not only because three crucial points are at stake in terms of our challenge to climb up the league table but also because, at long last, we have the opportunity to stage a home game and generate some desperately needed matchday income.
“The succession of postponements have savaged our cash flow, and you don’t need to be a forensic accountant to work out the need for an injection of much needed revenue.”
The club is hoping that the loyal fans will turn up in great numbers and be “as generous as their circumstances permit,” as well as that the scheme will attract new visitors to the ground for the first time.
