Old Christchurch Road and Lansdowne Crescent in Bournemouth are closed due to emergency works in the area while a burst water main is repaired.
The closures are affecting traffic in the area, and drivers are advised to plan their routes accordingly to avoid traffic build-ups in the immediate and surrounding areas.
The work is expected to end on Friday 17 January.
It comes after commuters faced chaos this morning as traffic lights at the busy Mountbatten roundabout in Wallisdown failed.
They were up and running by 11am after workers replaced a blown lamp switch card.
Ringwood Road is already reduced to one lane due to already existing works.
A cycle lane is being put in as part of a £17.5 million scheme with the works expected to continue on this stretch until spring.
