The glamorously-named Beach Hut Number 2359 was built on Bournemouth beach in 1909.
It is one of 29 that are set to be demolished in order for £9m worth of repairs to be conducted on Bournemouth pier.
A commemorative blue plaque on hut number 2359 reads: “First municipal beach hut in the UK.” However, it is believed that the existing structure is not the original.
