Looking at Bournemouth’s season so far, it has been a campaign that caught many by surprise, with the Cherries sitting comfortably in eighth after 21 games in the Premier League season.
Andoni Iraola’s side are currently nine games unbeaten, including notable victories at home to Spurs and away to Manchester United. The Cherries will be looking to continue their fine run of form that has seen them go unbeaten in their last nine games, with fans dreaming of a European push for the first time in the clubs history.
Bournemouth have kept five clean sheets so far this season, with the centre back partnership of Dean Huijsen and Illia Zabarnyi being key to the side’s success. Huijsen has netted twice already this season, providing an attacking threat from set pieces. The CB pairing have the seventh most clean sheets, with Zabarnyi winning 62.5% of his tackles this season. Zabarnyi, who joined the Cherries back in January 2023, is one of only two players to have started every Premier League game for his side.
Iraola’s use of fullbacks has benefitted Hungarian international Milos Kerkez, who has quickly established himself as one of the best attacking fullbacks in the league.
“Milos has been solid this season, he is more mature, and he is seeing the benefits of having the experience of going through a past season,” said Iraola, earlier this season.
The 21-year-old has provided three assists already this season, beating his tally of one in the previous campaign.
The Cherries have scored the eighth most goals this season, with Antoine Semenyo netting six of the teams 32 Premier League goals. The Ghanaian is on target to have his best goal scoring season since joining Bournemouth, looking to beat last season’s tally of eight. The 25-Year-Old has really improved this season, showing his ability to use both feet when attacking players one on one, averaging 2.3 take on’s per 90.
