David Lynch has died of Emphysema on the 16th of January at the age of 78.
Lynch revealed he had been struggling with emphysema in August 2024.
He died after being forced to relocate due to the California wildfires.
The director of Elephant man, Eraserhead and Twin peaks left an immeasurable mark on contemporary cinema and inspired thousands of creatives.
Edgar Wright, Dorset born director of Shaun Of The Dead and other works, payed his tribute on an Instagram post.
He described him as a “director of singular vision, defined by his magical style and fascinating ambiguities.
“Though his work is one of a kind, he has inspired many to pick up a camera.”
Lynch’s family have asked for respect and privacy at this time.
