A local funeral director has invested in modern ceremony rooms to provide a more personalised and affordable option to families.
Douch Family Funeral Directors have been operating for more than a century.
They have seven branches across the South Coast, and four house ceremony rooms.
These rooms allow for more personalised funerals, and two even offer live streaming.
Community Engagement and Development Manager, Emma Regan, explains that they offer whatever families want for their loved ones.
She said:“Our main word would be choice it’s your choice.
“Our funeral directors pride themselves on saying I’ve got the gist of you and your personality and what your loved one would have loved, and we recommend a particular celebrant.”
One example was a Star Wars themed room with a table of a late gentleman’s beloved items.
The ability to live stream in the ceremony rooms was “wonderful” for families during the Coronavirus pandemic, when extended members couldn’t travel for the event.
They also work closely with churches and have encouraged many to modernise.
“A lot of the churches now also offer live streaming, so they are modernising just like us.
“We are all about saying this is a wide choice and what suits you as a family”.
