Britain’s highest paid supermarket increases its pay once again

January 22, 2025 //  by Darcy Miller

Darcey Miller BUzz News

Aldi, Britain’s highest paying supermarket will be raising its hourly rates for in-store workers to £12.71.

This will come into place from the 1st March. The pay will then exceed the Real Living Wage that has been set by the Living Wage Foundation.

Depending on the amount of time staff have worked for Aldi they could see pay rise to as high as £13.61.

The supermarket also offers paid breaks – the only major supermarket in Britain to do so.

The German, multinational company employs over 45,000 people in the UK in 1020 stores.

Minimum wage for people aged 21 and over will be increasing from the current £11.44 to £12.21 in April.
