With this years Six Nations getting underway this weekend, here are some players from every side that fans need to keep an eye out for. Whether you love the game of rugby or watching it for the first time these stars are bound to get you to enjoy the sport in some fashion.
Ireland
Sam Prendergast– Not a definite to start for Ireland as the fly half battle has once again split Irish fans between Munster and Leinster, in which the Leinster man competes against Munsters Jack Crowley. The 20-year-old has lit up the European stage since making his first starts for Ireland back in November. In a side that is based on pattern and structure he has that individualistic flair that could take this side to the next level as they look for a third title in a row.
France
Antoine Dupont– A man who makes the hardest skills look easy and simply the best player in the world. After missing last year’s tournament fans will be delighted to see him back on their screens, plus he’ll be delighted to be back and determined to bring the title back to France. Another player on sensational form is winger Louis Bielle-Biarrey so keep an eye out for him or you may miss him as he is rapid.
England
Marcus Smith– The hot stepping superstar was one of few positives for England in the autumn. His game management has improved hugely in the last year and whilst his flash moments are what fans notice and love him for. Things like his tactical kicking and defence are what can help England get must needed wins.
Scotland
Blair Kinghorn– whilst for Scotland the main man is co-captain and fly half Finn Russel, Kinghorn is playing wonderful rugby week in week out for Toulouse. Bringing that confidence into a Scottish side that need other stars to step up after the loss of Sione Tuipulotu. The full-back with his size, speed and ball playing attributes can cause problems for any side. As Scotland look for their first victory in 25 years.
Italy
Tommaso Menocello– last year’s player of the tournament will want to defend his crown and show to fans why he is the perfect blend of strength and speed in the centre. He gives Italy the consistency they need to build an attacking platform and let other stars like full-back Ange-Capuozzo shine.
Wales
Jac Morgan– the flanker named as captain by head coach Warren Gatland, will be doing everything he can to get his side a win after a winless 2024. He will be looking to get back to the form that we saw at the 2023 World Cup, with his huge hits and carrying with deceptive speed. He also has a decent kicking game… for a forward.
