With AFC Bournemouth’s continued Premier League success and plans for a new ground not yet submitted, it’s becoming harder for fans to be able to get tickets. With this in mind, where else in the Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole area can football fans go to get their football fix? Let’s take a look…
Wimborne Town FC
Let’s start with the club with the highest average attendance last season, with 761, Southern Premier side Wimborne Town.
The Magpies won the Southern League Division One South at the end of last season and play at the purpose-built Wyatt Homes Stadium. Wimborne are also the only club in the area to win the FA Vase, doing so in 1992.
Wimborne have a large youth set up, a reserve team that plays in the Dorset Premier League (Step Seven) and in 2023 appointed goalscoring goalkeeper Jimmy Glass as the clubs general manager.

Current manager, Dan Cann, continued their growth after Sills left, guiding them to the play-off final before losing to Sholing.
In October 2023, the Hammers were forced to withdraw out of the Southern League due to a stand being condemned at the Dorset County Ground and not meeting the required regulations. They now compete in the Wessex League Division One.
