Hundred Cricket competition
The Hundred fixtures have been released for the tournament that starts Tuesday 5th of August.
The tournament will start and end at the main headline Lord’s Cricket Ground in London.
The tournament consists of 16 teams, with eight of them being men’s and the other eight women’s.
These include Birmingham Phoenix, London Spirit, Manchester Originals, Northern Superchargers, Oval Invincibles, Southern Brave, Trent Rockets and Welsh Fire.
The Oval Invincibles men look to win the competition for the 3rd time in a row and will start the fixtures off against London Spirit.
The men’s and women’s teams will play in double headers with the women’s team starting earlier on in the day and the men playing the same fixture later.
The top teams will then make it to the knockout stages and compete to make it to the final and lift the trophy.
How it works:
It is a format of cricket where each team faces 100 balls, in contrast to the 120 balls typically played in T20 cricket.
The game consists of 10 overs per side, with each over containing 5 balls.
Bowlers are limited to a maximum of 20 balls, and fielding restrictions are applied during the first 25 balls, known as the Powerplay.
The format is designed to enhance the pace and excitement of the game, with a greater focus on aggressive batting and entertainment.
