Verwood Town travel down to the Camp & Satherley Stadium this Saturday to face Portland United.

The Potters will be looking for a change in form after three consecutive league losses, their most recent a 1-5 loss to Balti Sports.

Portland are on a streak of three consecutive losses, this makes tomorrow”s fixture an important fixture for two struggling sides.

Top contributor for Verwood, Matt Pope, will be looking to capitalise on Portland’s recently fragile defence, he will look to add to his three goals and two assists this season.

The last time the two teams clashed was on the 29th of November 2017 in the Dorset Senior Cup semi-finals, where Portland won 4-2 with a brace from Alex Godfrey, and a goal from both Alex Halloran and Jamie Beasley.

Verwood were relegated from the Western Football League Premier Division last year, resulting in the first clash between these two teams in eight years.

Portland currently sit at 15th in the Dorset Premier Football League on seven points, with a record of two wins, one draw, and 6 losses.

Verwood sit at 13th on ten points, with a record of three wins, one draw, and seven losses.

A win for Portland could put them up to 13th on equal points with Verwood with a game in hand.

Verwood manager Jamie Kay said: “We want as many points as possible – we want to stay up.”

A 10% chance of rain in Portland tomorrow, with wind speeds of 23km/h and temperatures of 16 degrees.

You can listen to the game online at air1072.com or via the RadioPlayer app on your mobile device.
