Bournemouth University cricket scholar Joe Carson finished the 2025 season as Dorset’s top wicket taker in both the NCCA One-Day Trophy and the NCCA T-Twenty Trophy.
Carson ended his Dorset Campaign with 37 wickets in all competitions and his best bowling figures being 5-37 against Wales NC.
The 20-year-old’s performances helped Dorset lift the NCCA One-Day Trophy with a victory over Shropshire CCC, where he took three wickets in the final.
Carson revealed that he was proud to be a part of Dorset’s success over the campaign.
He said: “It was amazing to be a part of a trophy winning team this season and I was glad I managed to contribute with the ball, especially in my first season at Dorset.”
When speaking with the Dorset bowler, he told us that being part of the Bournemouth University scholarship programme has massively helped him develop his game, both in the winter pre-season and in the heights of the summer cricketing calendar.
The University’s scholarship programme offers student athletes a vast range of perks, including massage therapy, free kit, nutrition talks, physio and extra coaching, which Carson explained that he took full advantage of.
The scholar said: “It’s great, during my season at Dorset I made full use of the rehabilitation services on offer to me, which helped towards my post-game recovery.”
Following a successful 2025 campaign, Carson has signed for Brentwood CC, who play in the Essex Premier League, alongside continuing his journey on searching for a professional contract.
