South Coast Makers have opened a permanent shop on the ground floor of Bobby’s & Co in Bournemouth Town Square.
The independent directory have had a number of pop-up markets at the Bournemouth Arts by the sea festival.
They also have monthly pop-up markets in Bournemouth Lower Gardens.
Owners, Jo Foy& Adam Brierley, use the new space to support local artists, crafters and businesses in the area.
They started their business in 2018 and opened their shop a few months back this year.
Their store is filled with sustainable handmade products like ceramics, jewellery and even chocolate.
The shop gives them a platform to showcase and sell their work. It also allows artists to meet other artists to create and support together.
Mary, an employee in the shop, said: “A lot of talent goes unseen and unheard.
“It’s a good platform that helps you home in and focus on building the business side of things when being an independent artist.
“Jo and Adam have worked really hard from going to pop-up markets and festivals in the Bournemouth lower gardens, to having a permeant shop here underneath Bobby’s.”
She also said that they have built a good and loyal customer and creator base so that people find it easier to network.
“They always bring out opportunities for creators to put on exhibitions of their own work.”
The shop now also holds indoor craft workshops.
They have supported a number of local community projects and charities alongside their markets like The Wave Project & Plastic Free Bournemouth.
