Joe Rolls, a 21 year old McDonald’s manager from Southampton has been named ‘Employee of the quarter for the South West franchise Region’.
This has earned him recognition for his outstanding leadership, dedication, and teamwork.
Rolls, who manages a busy Southampton branch, has been balancing his role at McDonald’s alongside studying for a Business Management degree at Southampton Solent University.
His hard work has paid off, as he progressed to the national finals of the competition after excelling at regional level.
Announcing the news on social media, Joe said:
“After a long wait, I would like to announce that I have won Employee of the Quarter for the whole of the South West franchise region.”
He said: “After this win I will have a video call to compete in the next stage to try and win a national competition, I am so grateful for this opportunity and amazing career milestone.”
He further added: “The skills I have learnt over the past five years I will carry for the rest of my life.”
In the regional finals, he was praised for his strong communication skills and ability to motivate his team.
Reflecting on his success, he highlighted the importance of building positive relationships in the workplace.
Joe exclaimed: “Creating good interpersonal connections with your team is vital.”
Further stating: “When people feel valued and supported, the whole team performs better, that’s something I’ve really focused on.”
He also spoke about the balancing act between his job and his degree, noting the importance of time management and discipline.
Rolls proclaimed: “It’s been challenging to juggle work and university, but learning how to prioritise has been key.”
He added : “Those skills will help me wherever my career takes me.”
Joe’s achievement has been celebrated across the franchise, marking a proud moment for his team.
