Students at Bournemouth University took part in a fun and thought-provoking new activity this SHAG (Sexual Health And Guidance) Week.

The hands on, laughter filled session invited participants to paint and decorate pre-made body part moulds including breasts, vulvas and penises.

The session was led by Justina King, designed to encourage body positivity and help people become more open and comfortable with topics around sexual health and physicality.

Attendees described the session  as “very therapeutic” and “a great way to relax the brain.”

The workshop offered a creative outlet for participants to express themselves whilst also helping break down taboos and open up conversations about intimacy and body image.

Organiser Justina King said:

“It’s such a positive way to talk about sexual health and body confidence.”

She added: “It helps people open up about intimate struggles in a safe, fun space.”

The workshop offered an opportunity for people to connect creatively, express individuality, and start important conversations in a relaxed, non-judgmental setting.

Every attendee left with a one-of-a-kind keepsake to take home, a personal piece of art representing empowerment, acceptance, and self-celebration.

SHAG Week which is coordinated in partnership with university wellbeing teams and local health services, is all about encouraging sexual health awareness, healthy relationships, and positive attitudes towards intimacy.

Events like this help reinforce the message that sexual wellbeing is about more than just safety it’s also about confidence, consent, and connection.
