The new Head of Women’s Football at AFC Bournemouth, Bruce Suraci, has been a pivotal figure for the Cherries for over a decade.
He spent eight years as the Academy Head of Coaching & Development and has played a critical role in nurturing the next generation of footballers.
Before his role at Bournemouth, he was the academy coach at Portsmouth FC and the academy director at Portsmouth College, had former leadership roles at the Hampshire Girls Centre of Excellence, and was coach of both the men’s and women’s teams at the University of Portsmouth.
Regarding his education, Bruce said: “As head of coaching I did a diploma in elite coaching development which the club supported me through.
“Finally, I’m studying a Doctorate in Sport, Exercise and Health at the University of Portsmouth.
“I think gaining that knowledge and understanding of the necessity for clear purpose, strategy, and an alignment with culture has put me in good stead for this type of leadership role.
“I will do my best to share that knowledge with other people.”
