A popular singer-songwriter will perform near Bournemouth.

Welsh folk musician Martyn Joseph will take to the stage at The Trinity Centre in Ringwood on Friday, November 14.

He’ll appear at the venue as part of BFC Presents, formerly the Bournemouth Folk Club, which hosts acoustic, roots and folk music events.

Martyn Joseph is best known for his 1984 Top 40 chart success with Dolphins Make Me Cry.

He has supported Joan Armatrading and Art Garfunkel on tour and has been compared to Bruce Springsteen.

Speaking to Buzz ahead of the show, Martyn said: “I caught a bit of a cold after the first night of the tour and have been struggling each morning.

“By the time 8pm comes [my voice] somehow miraculously turns up again.”

Martyn’s Ringwood show comes in support of his newest album, Troubled Horses.

The album was released physically by Pipe Records on Friday, November 7 and will be available to digitally stream in January 2026.
