New Art Exhibition set up by former AUB student in Boscombe

A new art exhibition has arrived at The Old School House in Boscombe.

The Old School House, commonly known as TOSH, works to support local artists and hosts various community development events.

The creator of the exhibition, Millie Lake, has lived in Bournemouth her entire life, having also studied at Arts University Bournemouth.

Speaking about her inspirations to create and organise the exhibition, Lake said: “I’ve always felt that there’s a gap between the number of creative people and the number of spaces available.

“While Bournemouth doesn’t have many traditional gallery spaces, there are so many other venues that lend themselves beautifully to exhibitions.”

The theme of the art exhibition is called ‘Unseen’.

Lake said: “With everything going on around us, I chose the theme ‘Unseen’ to give people space to explore their own experiences of feeling unseen.

“With TOSH’s commitment to platforming outside art and overlooked voices, the theme felt like a natural fit.”

The exhibition will be open to the public until 12 December.
