Tonight stitch and movie night

January 16, 2026 //  by Julia Apte

Tonight Bournemouth’s Patch is hosting a stitch and movie night. Tickets are on sale on Eventbright for £12.50.

Stitch and movie night is a community event for people to bring their knitting, crochet, drawing or any other portable craft to a movie night.

The events organiser Becca Parker started it as a way to take an activity she loves and make it more social.

Becca said, “It’s a chance to socialise, get a bit of project time, put your phone down and be in real life for a bit and connect with likeminded people.”

The movie choice is Little Women, it is based on the novel ‘Little Women’ written by Louisa May Alcott. It is a coming of age story set in 19th century Massachusetts. The story follows four sisters, Meg, Jo, Beth and Amy, as they journey through life.

Patch is a community workspace, people can rent small offices and time in communal space.

Becca Parker, the events organiser, said: “The idea is that you have a comfortable place to work outside of your home. Lots of people are working from home feeling a bit disconnected after COVID.”

Studies from the Financial Times have found 25% of people working from home suffer with feelings of loneliness and isolation.
