Poole Pirates announce Wessex Marine as title sponsor for 2026

January 21, 2026 //  by Cameron Dennison

Wessex Marine are the title sponsor for the Poole Pirates in 2026

Poole Pirates have announced a new deal with long-time sponsors Wessex Marine as they extend their title sponsorship for the upcoming 2026 season.

Wessex Marine are local boat dealers who have been sponsoring the club throughout Matt Fords tenure and has been the main title sponsor for over three years with them first taking over in 2023.

The company is owned by father and son duo David and Guy Adams who are known to be speedway enthusiasts.

In the statement from Poole regarding the sponsorship co-promoter Dan Ford said: “David and Guy are true speedway people and brilliant backers off riders at all levels.”

“Their support goes far beyond sponsorship, and having Wessex Marine alongside us again is hugely important as we look ahead to another exciting season.”

Wessex have seen the Pirates win 4 league titles and 4 knockout cups including the 2025 championship (the second tier of Speedway) in the last 5 years alone.

With them also winning the BSN series twice as well in that time.

It’s safe to say the association between Wessex Marine and the Pirates has been a successful one, however, the Pirates are unlikely to stop there with a feeling of optimism surrounding the club as they head into the new season.

Their sponsorship is widely appreciated throughout the fanbase.

With it clear to see in some of the comments left since the news such as Tulisa Broom who said on Facebook: “Yes, now Nigel can still say please welcome our Poole Wessex marine pirates.”

Another example is a comment on Instagram by @chateaulabriance who said : “Thank goodness for David and Guy at Wessex being such great supporters of the club”

After re-signing their exciting trio of Cook, Kerr and Lawson the Pirates look to make it back-to-back league titles and go one better than last season and win the treble.

With Lawson also being titled: “the best rider in the league” by Ford and the exciting signings of Cooper Rushen and Dan Gilkes the Pirates are in the best position possible to complete that challenge.

There has been no official date to when the Pirate’s title defence will start but the anticipation is truly ramping up as they look to continue the success we’ve become used to seeing.
