Iford Golf Centre has been closed due to severe flooding around the course, with danger to life floods, due to Storm Chandra causing widespread disruption.
After days of heavy rain, which have caused travel disruption across Dorset, the centre is expected to be open at 14:00 today, with the roads clearing, the driving range, simulator and mini golf will be open, and from tomorrow will be open as usual.
The centre is giving the chance to the golfers a chance to get out as the weather begins to ease and substantial flood water recedes.
A local worker said: “This is the worst I’ve seen since I worked here.” Comes after seeing swans across the flooded gold course.

Severe flooding is expected today at Ilford, near Christchurch, the Environment Agency said: “deep and fast flowing.”
Yesterday, 28 residents in the Ilford area were advised to leave their homes by the BCP council as the Environment Agency stated that flood waters were expected to rise throughout the day.
Dorset & Wiltshire and the rescue service have been at the scene to ensure public safety, and the clean-up efforts are continuing after an intense rainfall as conditions slowly improve.
Councillor Andy Hadley, BCP Council’s member for climate, said: “ The council officers are working with the Environment Agency to support local communities.” Reported by the Echo.
80 homes are expected to be impacted, it comes after 85 flood warnings and 214 flood alerts across the south, reported by Sky News.
The Met Office said further rain could bring more flooding and disruption.
The club has had previous floods on the course as a recurrence due to being next to a flowing river.
The Iford Golf Club opened in 1997 and has over 117 years of heritage for the local community.
The newly built clubhouse has modern features with changing rooms and is designed for private events.
