David Brooks named AFC Bournemouth player of the month for December.
After a run of impressive performances including two goals against Brighton, David Brooks was Eddie Howe’s first signing of last summer’s transfer window. He joined the Cherries for over £10 million from Sheffield United and has made a total of 22 appearances since.
Brooks was the resounding winner of the award. He claimed 79% of the supporter’s votes to come out on top. This is the second time Brooks has won the award after claiming it for the first time back in October 2017. November’s winner, Jefferson Lerma, was runner-up.
The brace against Brighton came in one of Brooks’ seven appearances over the very busy festive period. December saw Bournemouth have a run of tough fixtures that included a trip to either Manchester clubs, Tottenham and Chelsea and left the club in the bottom half of the Premier League table.
