Dorset Police has issued a CCTV image of a man suspected to have stolen a handbag from a Bournemouth store.

The man was recorded stealing a handbag, containing a wallet and mobile phone, from a member of staff at Poundland in Boscombe’s Sovereign Centre just before 9am on Friday 9 November.

Police Constable Sarah Carpenter, Dorset Police, said: “We have so far been unsuccessful in identifying the suspect and I am now appealing to members of the public for anyone with information as to his identity to contact us.”

The issue comes at a time when crime maps have revealed that 1,946 crimes were reported in central Boscombe across 2018.

Anyone with information should contact Dorset Police at www.dorset.police.uk, via the email address 101@dorset.pnn.police.uk or by calling 101, quoting occurrence number 55180181251. Alternatively, contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or via www.crimestoppers-uk.org.
