Since 2015 Hampshire has been a heavily Conservative area. Out of the 18 constituencies within the county 17 were ‘blue’. In 2017, this only changed by a minute margin with the Conservatives keeping 16 out of the 18 constituencies within the county.
Whilst Buzz News is not directly covering seats in Hampshire, the county in intertwined with Dorset, with Bournemouth and Christchurch being a part of Hants until 1974.
According to the exit poll which was released at 10pm the two constituencies that were Labour at the 2017 election are considered not easy to call.
Consequently there is a chance of these being won by the Conservatives. This would lead to an unanimous majority of 100% of Hampshire’s constituencies being Conservative, matching the likely result in Dorset.
Though the overall exit poll reflects all constituencies rather than just those in Hampshire the Conservative increase being as vast as it is on the whole countries’ scale can be reflected on a micro scale by the potential of an entirely Conservative Hampshire.
