Dorset Police is appealing for witnesses following attempted thefts from cars in two roads near to each other in Bournemouth.

It is reported that at between 7.30am and 8am on Saturday 11 January, a man attempted to gain access to several cars on Wentworth Avenue and Rotherfield Road.

The man, described as aged between 20 and 40, is bearded and wearing a black hat, dark coat and a rucksack.

Police Community Support Investigator Richard Frew, of Bournemouth Police, said: “Whilst nothing was stolen or damaged, we are keen to establish the circumstances surrounding these incidents and I would like to identify the man involved.

“I would urge anyone who witnessed any suspicious activity in the area at the relevant time to please contact us.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact Dorset Police at www.dorset.police.uk , via email: 101@dorset.pnn.police.uk or by calling 101 , quoting occurrence number 55200005201.

Alternatively, contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or via www.crimestoppers-uk.org.
