Dorset Police has issued an image of a man they would like to speak to following a theft by finding in Poole.
The incident took place at a cashpoint outside Tesco in Poole Road at around 11am on Friday 10 January 2020.
A woman in her 40s withdrew £250 from the machine but became distracted and forgot to take her money.
When she remembered and returned to the ATM she discovered that the money had been taken.
A man with a small child reportedly went to the machine and removed the money.
He then went into Tesco, walked around for a short duration before leaving without buying anything or handing the money in.
Police Community Support Investigator James Somerville, of Poole police, said: “The victim has been left very upset by this incident due to the amount of money involved.
“I am keen to speak to the man pictured to get his account and would urge anyone with information as to his identity to please contact me. I would also urge the man involved to do the right thing and come forward.”
