Vandals in Alderholt are believed to have fired missiles from a vehicle.

East Dorset Police has launched an appeal for information after vandals fired missiles through house windows.

Police believe the offenders are using a vehicle and firing projectiles from a catapult, air weapon or BB gun.

According to Cambridge Dictionary, a missile is defined as “any object that is thrown with the intention of causing injury or damage.”

A house in the village of Alderholt, East Dorset, had its window damaged at around 10pm on Saturday 18 January.

This is the latest in a string of related criminal damage offences.

A spokesperson for East Dorset Police said on Facebook: “We need your help.

“There has been a series of criminal damage offences in similar circumstances in East Dorset. It is believed that the offenders are using a vehicle and the projectiles are being fired from the vehicle.”

The Verwood Town Neighbourhood Policing Team’s priorities for January 2020 include targeting ‘ASB and Vandalism’.

Following these offences, the team will be increasing patrols in the targeted area.

Police are urging people to be vigilant and are asking anyone with information to come forward.

Call 101, report online at dorset.police.uk or call Crimestoppers on 0800 5551111.
