UPDATE: Power cut leaves homes across Bournemouth in the dark

January 21, 2020 //  by Jamie Downes//  Leave a Comment

A power cut has affected more than 2,800 homes across Bournemouth since 8.10am this morning.

Scottish and Southern Electrics Networks (SSEN) says that properties from more than 65 areas have been affected by the cut, which took place this morning. The worst hit postcodes are BH8, BH9, BH10 and BH16.

SSEN states on its website that the power should be restored by noon – except in BH16 where it should be restored by 5.30pm.

Here is an image from SSEN of the areas most affected:

SSEN’s Project Manager Duncan Macdonald apologised “to any customers who were affected by this power cut this morning.”

Find out if you’ve been affected on the SSEN website.

As if the cold weather isn't bad enough, some areas in #Dorset have been struck with a power cut. 😨

Current areas affected include BH12*, BH14*, BH9 and BH16. SSE aim to restore power by 11am*, 12pm and 5.30pm respectively. #SSE have apologised for the loss in supply. pic.twitter.com/UbEvvtHI7j
