UK Music’s annual report reveals that 1 in 3 musicians became unemployed during the COVID-19 Pandemic. In addition to this, the Music industry’s economic contribution fell by 46% from £5.8 Bn to 3.1 Bn in 2020 alone.
Nick Smith, a local Producer on the South coast has over 25 years in the Music industry. He has produced instrumentals for small film projects and documentaries, as well as being an Audio Engineer. He told me about the struggles he faces, including losing clientele because of restrictions.
