Lighting up Bournemouth Gardens for Christmas

The festive season is officially here as Bournemouth gets ready to switch on the Christmas lights and open the Christmas market.

Running from the 16 November to New Years Day, the 2023 market is set to be the biggest Christmas event Bournemouth has seen.

Operations manager of Churros King, Zach, said: “It’s my first year in Bournemouth, I’ve worked all over the UK, so I’m excited to work here and this could be our biggest year for it.”

Zach added: “From what I’ve heard all the market stalls are full and there’s plenty of returning traders which is always a good thing.”

Open seven days a week, The Alpine Lodge bar is set to host crowds of people drinking beer from their steins and sipping on mulled wine.

Preparations have been taking place to make sure the festive décor has been completed inside as well as the “ski carts” that cater for a group of six outdoors.

Part of the promotion for the opening has been the offer of free glass of mulled wine for the first 300 visitors when the doors open to the public at 6pm tonight.

Keen ice skaters can also partake in skating on Bournemouth’s largest outdoor ice rink as it returns alongside the popular Moguls Bar in the heart of Bournemouth’s historic lower gardens.
