New CCTV footage has emerged appearing to show a suspected Wimborne bike thief on his phone.

At around 11.40pm on Friday 20 December 2019, a 17-year-old boy, left his bike outside of TSB bank in The Square when it got stolen.

The bike is described as a black Cannondale mountain bike with silver and red writing on it.

Police Community Support Investigator Kate Hann, of East Dorset police, said: “The loss of the bike has caused a significant financial impact on the victim, who was working in a nearby shop at the time the bike was stolen in order to earn extra money to buy Christmas presents.

“I have obtained CCTV images of the suspect. While I appreciate they are not of the best quality, I am hoping someone may recognise him from his tattoos.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact Dorset Police at www.dorset.police.uk, via email 101@dorset.pnn.police.uk or by calling 101, quoting occurrence number 55190199911. Alternatively, contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or via www.crimestoppers-uk.org.
