The Leave Only Footprints group met this weekend to clean up Bournemouth’s beach.
The initiative is run by BCP council and aims to reduce litter and improve recycling.
Around 50 volunteers signed up to clean the beach on Saturday, where they collected litter from 100 metres either side of the pier.
It was a successful morning with a number of volunteers collecting bin bags full of rubbish to be recycled.
Emily Fergusson, who runs the group, says: “We care about the beach here in Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole and raising awareness about marine conservation.
She adds: “We want to hopefully get people to think twice about what they do with their rubbish.”
The group regularly runs school groups, tree planting and beach cleans.
